Youth Hostels and other "backpacker" accommodation are mostly found in and around around Northbridge and Fremantle, although there is also a fair amount in the beach area of Scarborough.

About 20 minutes south of Perth is the port city of Fremantle. Only minutes from the beach, Fremantle offers many historical tourist destinations, colourful markets, and plenty of cheap eating and live entertainment.
