Newspapers
Perth has two large newspapers published locally, The West Australian and the Sunday Times. The West Australian is the most popular and larger of the two papers.
Papers are available through newspaper stands on the streets, newsagents, deli's and home delivery. Other papers from around Australia and overseas can be found at some of the larger newsagents.
The West Australian paper is a printed every day apart from Sunday. The paper includes information about current affairs, international news, national news, sport, entertainment, television, computers, gigguide, arts, comics, crosswords, radio, weather, horoscopes and classifieds advertisements. The saturday addition of the paper has a liftout television guide for the week.
The second largest locally produced paper is called the Sunday Times. The Sunday times is published every Sunday and has recently celebrated 100 years of publication. The paper covers both local interstate and overseas news and current affairs. The paper has many different liftout sections including sport, entertainment, travel, weddings, homes, shopping, readers mart and a liftout television guide for the week.
If your looking to buy, sell or swap something then the Sunday Times has a very popular classified liftout called the Readers Mart. Inside the readers mart you can find information about cars, houses, boats and general classified advertisements. The most popular day for West Australian classified advertisements is on a Wednesday. Other classified papers include the Quokka, a free to advertise paper published weekly that covers all types of advertisments and the Trading Post which has a large variety of advertisements.
